Prof. Qi Liang Wins the Second Prize of Outstanding Works of An Zijie Award

An Zijie International Trade Research Award (An Zijie Award) is the highest research award in Chinese international trade field. The award was set up by the late industrialist and outstanding scholar An Zijie in 1991. It was also considered to be a ministry-level prize by the Ministry of Education. The other day, the winner of the 16th An Zijie Prize was announced. Professor Liang Qi from Business School of SYSU won the Second Prize (with the first prize vacant) of Outstanding Works with her book Specialization, Agglomeration and Growth. It is the highest prize this time, and it’s also the highest prize that Guangdong Province has got since the prize’s inception.?

Professor Liang Qi is the reviewer of World Economy, specialist of academic degree and graduate education, judge of National scholarship, judge of Pu Shan Zhongyin World Outstanding Economic Theses, council member of the International Economic Association and Experts in Peer Review for Chinese National Natural Science Foundation. In recent years, Professor Liang Qi committed herself to the theory of industrial agglomeration, space economics and international economics. She published a lot of papers on Quarterly Journal of Economics, World Economy, Management World and Journal of Management Sciences. She won the prize of National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award---the only awarded dissertation of economics field in 2006. In 2004 and 2005, she won the Second Prize of Outstanding Works of the 12th and the 13th An Zijie Prize. In 2004 she won Pushan Prize of Chinese Society of World Economy. He was the Chief Researcher of many National key social science research projects and provincial level projects.
