International Accreditation
As the internalization becomes one of the core competition for Chinese business school, the international accreditation has become one of the most important internalization strategies for School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, aiming to help the school to improve its overall management, teaching and research level by connecting with the international leading level.
AMBA (The Association of MBAs), EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) and AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) are the blue ribbon for business schools internationally. Each of these accreditations has its specific high criteria for business education and research. They assess quality and ranking of business schools in full range. Less than 1% of the world’s business schools can be awarded all three accreditations.
School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University was awarded AMBA accreditation in 2009, since then the rapid development of internationalization of the school kicked off. The school passed the EFMD review and was awarded EQUIS international accreditation in 2011. It was approved by AACSB accreditation committee and was awarded AACSB international accreditation in 2013. Then the school was awarded by EQUIS、AACSB and AMBA for five years’ full re-accreditation, making it one of the few business schools in Mainland China and also the only business school in south China awarded for five years’ full accreditation of all three accreditations.
Being awarded the international accreditations continuously not only enables the school a great breakthrough in terms of scale and quality but also prompts the school to have a clearer picture of its mission and vision, thus improves the teaching, research and management level unceasingly. School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University has always made it its mission to build an international excellent business school, continuously improving its comprehensive strength, creating knowledge by the integration of technical innovation and management reform, and striving for the glorious mission of cultivating creative and socially responsible management talents in business. AACSB Re-accreditation 2023
The school was once again awarded the highest standard AACSB 5-year accreditation.
EQUIS Re-accreditation 2022
The school was once again awarded the highest standard EQUIS 5-year accreditation.
AMBA Re-accreditation 2019
The school was once again awarded the highest standard AMBA 5-year accreditation.
AACSB Re-accreditation 2018
From October 21st to October 23rd 2018, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) appointed a peer review team to conduct AACSB re-accreditation for School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University.
EQUIS Re-accreditation 2017
In December 2017, School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University received an official notice from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) that School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University was successfully awarded the five-year re-accreditation by EQUIS after the vote of EQUIS accreditation committee.
AMBA Re-accreditation 2014
In October 2014, School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University received news from London that the Association of MBAs decided to grant the full five-year AMBA accreditation to the school, after the deliberation by the International Accreditation Advisory Board.
AACSB Accreditation 2013
In July 2013, headquarter of AACSB in United States sent a letter to School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University, congratulating the school on the AACSB accreditation, which has been approved by its accreditation committee and confirmed by its Board of Directors. It is the first time that School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University was granted AACSB accreditation for five-year term.
EQUIS Accreditation 2011
In June 2011, the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) granted the EQUIS accreditation to School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University for the first time after the deliberation and vote.
AMBA Accreditation 2010
In February 2010, School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University received the formal notification letter from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) that decided to grant the AMBA accreditation to the school, after the on-site review and detailed assessment for almost two months by AMBA accreditation committee.
