Marketing Department’s “Marketing Horizon” Lecture Series Presents the 23rd Talk

On the afternoon of October 18, the 23rd Lecture of Marketing Horizon sponsored by the Department of Marketing of, Sun Yat-sen Business School, was successfully held at A207 of East Campus. The lecture was well received by students and faculty alike. Liang Jianping presided over the lecture.

Dr. William Davila, who is assistant professor of marketing from IE Business School in Spain, has been invited to deliver a lecture titled “The Art of Seduction”. The lecture of Dr. Davila has three parts: why the seductive expressions are more useful than the plain statements; the procedures in which seductions are produced; an analysis of the sensibility marketing principles from the perspective of how it works. At the beginning of the lecture, Dr. Davila showed a marketing model which resorted to sentiment through many examples. He pointed out that sensibility marketing was an interactive process, in which both the consumer and the seller created values. For better illustrating that, he took the Nike online shop and the falling in love of the young as examples, which deeply impressed the students and helped them to understand.

During the two-hour lecture, Dr. Davila’s marketing research and analysis of European style broadened the horizon of the students and they applauded many times for Dr. Davila’s humor and wisdom. After the lecture, Mr. Liang extended his warm welcome to Dr. William’s arrival and presented him a gift.
