2010 Honorary Ceremony for Career Mentors took place successfully at School of Business

2010 Honorary Ceremony for Career Mentors took place at the International Meeting Room of the Business School on the afternoon of November 14th. Li Mingzhang, Director of Career Center of Sun Yat-sen University, Tan Jinsong, Secretary of School of Business, Deputy Secretary Dai Honghui, Huang Xujun, member of SYSU Alumni Association, as well as teachers from different departments of the School ?were present at the ceremony. Moreover, about sixty alumni and more than 200 students of 2008 Class attended the ceremony.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Dai Honghui delivered a speech to show her sincere appreciation to the career mentors for their hardwork and unselfish devotions to students, and presented the achievements made by the School in the passed year. At last, she encouraged students to cherish every chance to learn in order to make progresses so as to reciprocate their supervisors and the alma mater. Li Mingzhang, Director of SYSU Career Center affirmed the advantages of the career mentors program and pointed out that the program could not only help students to understand what is career, thus enhancing their competitive competency, but also represent an effective way to bridge the cooperation between universities and enterprises and cultivate excellent management talents in the future. Ma Jing, on behalf of the students of ?2007 Class, shared her progress and what she had learned from this program. Tian Dayuan, a student representative of 2008 Class showed her and her fellows’ expectation for the program and sincere thanks to their supervisors.Tan Jingsong, the School’s Secretary?of the party committee presented each career mentor with a certificate. After that, Jie xiaobo, Chief President of the French Bank, BNP Paribas - Guang Zhou Branch made a speech as the representative of career mentors. He indicated the career mentors’ support to the program and expressed sincere expectations to the students. Afterwards, the student representative presented a thanking banner to Mr. Jie, on which there are signatures of every student joining in the ceremony, showing their thanks and respects to the career mentors.???? Finally, the ceremony came to the highlight. Students took turns to salute the career mentors on the platform and send well-prepared gifts. Some career mentors even gave students gifts in return. The teachers and students also shook hands and took photos. The scene, full of happiness, was extremely touching.After the ceremony, many career mentors didn’t hurry to leave. Instead, they had some talks with their students, sharing experiences and ideas on career planning.In recent years, the Business School has made great progress in perfecting the career mentors program, which has been affirmed and supported by numerous alumni. Students involved in the program also got much benefits. This program ?not only provides many opportunities to ?students to get in touch with the society, but also offered efficient guidance and help to ??students in career planning, social activities participating and job hunting. Meanwhile, the program prepares ?a good platform for alumni to connect and communicate with each other,of facilitating the work regarding student and alumni affairs.
