Life is Eternal Learning Process - the 1st Alumni Forum

Last updated:2011-04-20

On the afternoon of April 15th, 2011, the 1st SYSBS alumni forum was successfully held on the East Campus. Mr. Zhang Ke, the director of overseas auditing division in National Audit Office, who graduated from the major of Auditing at SYSBS in 1989, was invited as the keynote speaker of this forum. His speech gained great attention from students, especially those from Accounting and Financial Management. Teachers including Cai Xiang from Accounting , Zeng Tao, Yang Xiaohui from the Office of Career Development and Alumni, Du Qiuping, Hou Junfeng from the Office of Student Affairs, and students awarded Li Xuerou Scholarship also attended this forum.

At the beginning of the forum, Mr. Zhang Ke looked back on his own college life and experience. He emphasized the importance of extensive reading and analyzed differences between higher education in China and that in America. Then he appealed to students to discipline themselves, observe others, think of others, form sound personalities, set up good moral philosophy, and develop the habit of “being van ward in study and work, being mainstream in life”.

At last, Mr. Zhang Ke drew a conclusion that people learn through a series of four levels: learning from one’s own lessons, learning from others’ lessons, learning from one’s own experiences and learning from others’ experiences. All in all life is an eternal learning process.

With efforts from Mr. Zhang and SYSBS, the forum was successfully held within 4 days’ preparation, and aroused strong responses among students. More alumni forums like this are expected.
