Speaker: Dr. Meiji Fong is an Ivy league graduate from his Masters and Doctorate programs graduating with Magna Cum Laude in the United States. He has served on multiple Government and Private Commissions and Societies; whereas his executive roles for investment, finance, economic policy and geo-political economics. His experiences also served in China as a China Peoples Political Consultative Conference committee member in economic policy; the Thai Government for Financing projects in Cambodia and Singapore; Planned and advised on the restructuring of Vietnam’s distress market and debt markets. Dr. Fong continues to service the financial markets specifically in the fund management industry a Director for the Market Intelligence division of Madison Hedge Fund, G.P., and an Executive Director of Madison Global Assets Management Co., Ltd.; and holds several directorships with other funds of alternative asset classes.

With over 24 years in the financial industry, Dr. Fong’s Experiences have included three primary functions of the broad spectrum of functions in the fund industry which include Project Management (Financing and Syndication Lending), Corporate Finance (debt restructuring for private and government), and over 18 years of fund management (global macro-strategy hedge fund, Fund Manager and directors for Gold and Precious Metals Fund). These experiences have delivered prudence to government financing of state projects, the secondary and primary markets for the private and public sectors; an elite interpretation and practice of personal skills in management, communication and analytics.
Dr. Fong’s academic contributions has also included conducting courses in “Investment Valuation”, “Fund Management”, “Financial Engineering”, “ Leadership Communications”, “Business Communications”, and “Leadership Psychology and EQ”, for multiple schools; and remains committed to Sun Yat-Sen Business School and had also conducted seminars in “Market EQ – Quantifying Systemic Risk in Efficient Markets”, “Critical Thinking – Avoiding NA?VE Decision-Making”, “Internationalization of RMB.” His workshops also include his participation with the World Economic Forum and DAVOS on “Newtonian Laws in Systemic Changes in Macro-Economics Affecting Currency Value”; and his participation as a keynotes speaker in Xiamen Municipal Government and MOFCOM hosted “9-8 Conference” on “Hedging Opportunities in China during maturity of the Financial Markets in China” His knowledge has drawn radio and media for interviews on topics such as “The Two Concessions – Financial and Criminal Laws for the next 5 year plans”; “China’s Geo-political Economics and Market-economic policies” for FDIChina (Great Britain and Ireland) and “Internationalization of RMB” by China Radio International, and other magazines such as Finance Asia, and Asia Investor.
As a role requiring prudence, and his experiences of meeting people, corporate and government leaders, and students of all levels; he has concluded to share some of the “philosophies of decision making at all levels.’

Ms. Connie Leung attached herself with BNY Mellon as Managing Director, Head of Collateral Management and Segregation APAC ex-Japan, and is based in Singapore. Her accreditation and attributions comprise of over 25 years of industry professionalism in the banking and financial servicing sectors. ?Specialized areas include operations; finance; business planning and development; and client relationship management. Recently, she has just been appointed as the Head of Collateral Management and Segregation for the Markets Group business; covering APAC region ex-Japan. Before this appointment, she was the head of their Service Delivery and Chief Administrative Officer for the Collateral Business in BNY Mellon during the past six years.

Before her employment with BNY Mellon, Ms. Leung had held previous positions such as the Asia Pacific Head of Client Service and Client Reporting of Prime Services for Deutsche Bank, Hong Kong; Chief Operating Officer for two hedge fund managers; The Pacific Group Limited and the CITIC Capital Market Limited; and Vice President of Merrill Lynch (Asia Pacific) Limited, Hong Kong, managing middle office and operations functions for their Equity Derivatives business in Asia. Ms. Leung's is also a frequent guest speaker for leading business and MBA schools in China, including Sun Yat-sen University and Lingnan University, conducting seminars and forums in Business Communications, Asset Management, and Career Development.
Ms. Leung graduated from the University of Hawaii in Business Administration; majoring in Accounting and Travel Industry Management, and is a registered Certified Public Accountant by University of Illinois.
