The world of organizations is changing rapidly: globalization, deregulation, Ebusiness, telecommuting, virtual teams, outsourcing and other trends. ?Add to this the recent economic uncertainty, wide-spread ethical scandals and insecurity associated with war and terrorism. ?Change and crisis have become the norm for many organizations. ?Some historians and other scholars believe our world is undergoing a transformation more profound and far-reaching than any experienced since the dawn of the modern age and the Industrial Revolution some 500 years ago. ?Rapid environmental changes are causing fundamental shifts that have a dramatic impact on individuals and organizations, and present new challenges for organizational leaders. ??Leaders are facing a tough job keeping people grounded, focused, and motivated toward accomplishing positive goals. ???It takes particularly strong leaders to guide people through the uncertainty and confusion that accompanies periods of rapid change. ??

This seminar applies the fundamental principles of Sun Tzu’s Art of War and also western management concepts to both personal and organizational leadership in the turbulent environment. ?The discussion will be guided by frameworks of east meets west.Contemporary strategy concepts and analysis tools are taught in business schools worldwide and popularly applied at the workplace. ?On the other hand, the principles found in Sun Tzu’s Art of War has much in common with winning ancient battles as in winning modern-day battles inside and outside the organizations. Although the chariot has gone and weapons have changed, the fundamentals of these ancient principles with the influence of human nature on operations have been shown over and over again, in a striking way unchanging. ?More and more world leaders, military strategists, entrepreneurs and organization executives are creatively applying the principles in practice to strategize ‘battles’ for organizations. ?The principles have also proven to be an excellent framework for personal leadership development. ??
